The well dressed winter railfan *PIC*

Okay, enough train talk. Lets talk fashion. Winter train chasing fashion to be exact. I first chased trains in the snow on the DRGW narrow gauge, and it was habit forming. By 1969 that was no longer possible, so here are two of the three of us who had climbed to the Sierra Nevada crest to get a shot of the SP climbing west into tunnel 47. We actually spent the night there. The fellow on the right is Bert Welti, who is still an avid DRGW ng. modeler in HOn3. Perhaps if I had gotten into this hobby a bit earlier we could have chased rotaries over Cumbres looking like this. Now, as Earl would say, back to your regularly scheduled programming.
