January 1 WAS DAY 1 and May 1 is D-Day - we are really close to looking at creating a 90 Day Wonder here and everything so far (except for Railstar's assignment of Peter) is further diminishing my confidence that any of this can be pulled off. Peter, as his friends and supporters point out, is good at what he does - but I think we are asking miracles of him here!
And now as to the facts concerning Railstar's default - this is a PR nightmare - Most of us can understand missing a rent payment ONCE - Hey, it happens. People get busy, you delegate and the person you think has taken care of things, splits or has a brain faze - but we are talking three or four months of no rent - any landlords out there feel kindly toward people who skip out on their rent? AND it was not a huge amount AND there was no response to the demand letter in the 10 day window? HELLOOOOOO! To the average person this has DEADBEAT written all over it - and Peter must have had a clue what was going on. In business RENT and PAYROLL come first in your priorities when it comes to cash flow - Something very wrong happened at Railstar! In our heart of hearts we all wish them well, knowing what they are up against, but they will need to tighten up their operations or we will all suffer the consequences.
