The SVRy HAS a Fairmont ballast regulator, although it needs to be narrowed. It is sitting between the already narrowed McWilliams tamper and the needing to be narrowed Jackson tamper. Also at present the C&TS is not able to line with their STM tamper, but they do have the option of adding a cyl. to the jack beam which would allow them to do so. I know it is a pain to narrow standard equipment down, but the equipment you have in the yard at Sumpter really is pretty good stuff, just give it some tlc.
