Yes, the cars are riveted. Bolts can be used in their place, but they don't fill the hole like a Huck will, therefore it takes either more or larger bolts than Hucks. And once the Hucks are in, they are a permanent fastener, they will not come loose like a threaded bolt. For those that don't have a clue about Huck fasteners, they are steel fasteners that have a collar. The bolt is placed thru the hole, and the collar is placed on the end of the shank with a tool that pushes the collar onto the shank and pulls on the end of the shank. There is a portion of the shank that is smaller in diameter, which breaks off when the right amount of tension is applied. We use titanium Huck bolts when building the big airplanes.
