One of the E.B.T. hoppers has some new sheets installed. The rest are just sitting there. The contractor who was working on these cars is no longer here. He was only to be here so long and then he had to go on to other things. The fire prevention problems cut into all of this kind of work significantly. It is to bad as they are great looking cars and would have operated well in ballast service. The two old std. gauge hoppers are being utilized for ballast work now and I hear making as many as 4 trips a day out of Antonito. John West, who is ramrodding the track work would be able to elaborate further on this.
