There are some big differences between Huck bolts and pop rivet. The pop rivet is not a structural fastener, as it is a hollow aluminum shaft. And the pop rivet pulls itself in to complete the joint, while an external collar is used on the Huck. And, while the pop rivet is useful in blind situations, the Huck bolt requires access from both sides, and a large hydraulic machine to set them. There is one major airline that will not purchase a plane that uses Cherry rivets (our version of the pop rivet).
The Huck is similar to another fastener called a Hi-Lok which is threaded, but uses a similar breaking point which is used to set the torque value.
