The very thing that the Historical Society is supposed to be preserving is being overshadowed by pure greed. The only saving grace that I thought the CHS had in this whole debacle was that the GLR did not really have to much for Colorado RR equipment. With the announcment that some of the old Colorado RR equipment would be brought back to life, I thought that at least something good was going to come from this farce. Trading with the nose in the air Breckenridge elite, so that they may have a display ( and get future grant money for their coffers) while all the while bending, coniving, and switching the historical facts only makes me glad for the day that the public wakes up and strips the CHS of their funding mechanism - I would rather we spent the money on fresher air, nicer dogs, or some other liberal idea of perfection, than let the current beurocrats who run the CHS think that they are doing anything honorable here. They have not. Medaling fools that these berocratic pukes are, they have managaed to kill a great steam railroad operation, and now are defiling the very principles that their organization was originally set up to do. I can not imagine how the founders and caretakers of the CHS in the decades past must be rolling their eyes at the money grabbing, budget scrutinizing, wanna-be capitilists that are now at the helm. I plead with anyone reading this to take the time to contact their state representitive, and complain not about the GLR or other RR matters but the CHS's funding as a whole.
