Real creative website indeed...just about as creative as Railstar's apparently CHS-designed logo, as well as "Georgetown Loop Hisotoric Railroad" and the lack of a "Watch for Future Updates and News" line. Of course, it's obvious that CHS probably made this joke of a website. Even the wording would make a huge difference ("Historic Georgetown Loop Railroad"). The same effort put into this was probably the same put into manufacturing the Yugo turned off the assembly line at 11:59PM on December 24th, 1988. No offense to Yugo fans, if there are any...
The Colorado Railroad Legend known as the Georgetown Loop Railroad? It isn't there to "come and ride" anymore...because this organization murdered it! If they mean the "Colorado & Southern Clear Creek Branch", which has been gone for around 70 years, they should specify which 'legend' they were talking about.
The former GLRR is in just about every railroad book around. As for running historic equipment...we saw how long the Cort Hammond operation lasted, and how many books THAT made it into.
How many employees does Railstar have that Ron Trottier's e-mail address is the actual linked e-mail from that website? Or did Behrens and Bell not want to be bothered? Well, if Trottier did the e-mail, at least he's not cowered in a corner like Behrens scared of the perfectly reasonable people ridiculing him and his organization for doing what they did.
The announcement later this month shall be interesting to say the least, and yes, I do agree with whoever said how rediculous it is that all of this equipment-smuggling is stuffed under the hats of the CHS. Considering this is now an operation paid for by Colorado taxpayers, they at least have the right to know what their money is doing...
I don't hold any grudges against Railstar; I haven't even patronized their operations (Rome doesn't even look that bad), but the CHS is making themselves as laughable as the original patrons of the C&S Clear Creek Branch found Charlie Chaplin movies...
