If I read the email correctly, Bell is promising the same capacity as GLR. He said a steam locomotive will be in place for the season and the train will be same weight and capacity of the old concessionairs train? How high up in the CHS is this guy?
Note that the historic cars are not for regular use? What was mentioned in the original RFP? Did it not state that there were passenger cars available as well as other pieces of rolling stock for operation?
What is mentioned in this letter and what shows up after 1 January will help answer much of the speculation that is surrounding this change over?
Also I was taken on a tour of the GLR grounds in September 2003 after the Narrow Gauge Convention by Lindsay and Rosa. Lindsay pointed out the Crystal Palace Car Shed (or whatever it´s called) and showed me the track arrangement. He said that he spoke to the designer and noted that the location of the barn was not in alignment with a good connection to the GLR trackage. He was told ¨they knew what they were doing and it was possible to connect to the live trackage¨. Lindsay also pointed out the height of the doorway would not allow the D&RGW Long Caboose to enter. Again the designer said ¨the height has been measured and we are sure it will work¨. As you now see the caboose is still outside in the weather! The Cupola does not clear the doorway!
So with that kind of planning and execution of development of the facility back then. Can we trust what they have in mind to improve the operations?
