I feel the fires have had a big effect on Chama visits. When I returned to Ohio from the Friends A and B work scessions tne most asked question was about fires. Back here they thought NM was a total loss. How bad was the smoke, you actually ran, We thought the Govt shut you down, you get the idea. I know fuel prices didnt help, in fact even members of the Friends who traveled many miles said they would have evaluate fuel prices prior to 2001. I also feel fuel pricing may have been a factor in trip planning for lots of family outings. Its been a tough year, many bumps in the road but Ill tell you one thing, this kid had a tear in his eye when Gerald took that first train out of town!
