360 was cut up at Salida on 8-7-50
361 was cut up at Pueblo on 11-15-51
375 was cut up at Alamosa on 6-21-49
375 was known in the early years to steam really poorly, but according to John Norwood, she liked most of the coal right inside the firebox door. I know nothing of the operating quirks of the other two, but they both saw lots of use into Montrose. I realize that 494 was used quite a bit out of Chama up the pass, but she rarely ran into Durango from what I can gather. As all of the previous posters have stated, engines came in and out of favor over the years. 492 and 487 seemed to be Durango pet engines Does anyone know what 490 and 496 were like? I know that they never seemed to be out on the line too much, leading me to think that they were not particularly loved enines. And how about 485? I know she was used extensively over the system in the mid 40's but after the San Juan was cut, she seemed to just go up to Salida and work the Monarch Branch. Kinda interesting.
