I am glad you were able to attend the special trains we ran at the WP&YR. The charters were fun , but it was a challenge working them in to a full schedule without extra operating employees. Management was not eager to have anything on a crowded railroad that could conceivably delay a regular train. The cruise lines got very upset if anything delayed scheduled ship departures. There was however significant support for bringing the #40 up from Georgetown for the 100th anniversary of driving the “gold spike” at Carcross. It is a beautiful place especially with good weather.
The lack of photos in general is due to the fact that it is not near the road and the country is very difficult to hike through. The steep, heavily wooded, and wet terrain also contributes to shortage of good photos.
