I am glad I went out early at 64½ and spent as much time as possible in Narrow Gauge Country while energetic enough to enjoy it.  Our health declines more quickly as we get older:  No problem riding my bicycle from Chama to Cumbres at age 60 or running around up at Cumbres w/ Lerro Charter in 2012 at 70, the HTP trip in 2015 was more challenging, and - worn out at the end of the day - I watched the last two runby’s of TRAINS 2018 Charter from the cupola of the kibbutz.  I have skipped alll subsequent C&TS trips (one I helped plan), and even Pete’s relatively level & low-altitude Laws 2023 event as now being too much for me physically,

Moral: Gather ye Rosebuds (& Autumn Leaves) while ye May!!
