I bailed when the RRB (Railroad Retirement Board) rep said you can go on September 1, 2013 with full benefits. I said put the papers in, so he did, and the rest was history never looking back. That was age 62 with 30 years in, although I worked 33 years and one day. Yes, was difficult especially in the later years for me (rules/regulations/people/etc.) but the results are/were well worth it. BTW had nine years with SCL and 24 with AMTRAK both as a Conductor. I did love the job but not so much the Companies I kept.
