After each runby it was time to scramble up the ladder to the roof of the baggage car for another dramatic section of the canyon





I should mention here that many of the photos in this Ecuador series were taken by my wife Helen with the still camera while I focused on Super 8 sound movies. Clearly, digitized still frames are pretty low on resolution, but occasionally (reluctantly) they serve to fill a gap in a situation that cannot be repeated today, as here:
