Sorry, David -
FYI, in spite of accusations and insinuations (see [
ngdiscussion.net]), Roosso has NEVER painted the jacket of any locomotives green. In fact, SFAIK, Roosso has never painted ANY locomotive any color whatsoever other than HO scale models, and only one of them – a RoundHouse 4-6-0 – green. The jacket of C&TS #489 (lettered for the
Rio Grande at the time) was painted D&RGW dark olive (Moffat) green in May of 2010, but this was done by a professional artist, highly skilled in the use of an air brush to paint locomotives (see [
ngdiscussion.net] and [
ngdiscussion.net]). No one in his right mind would let Roosso anywhere near a steam locomotive – or even a diseasel – while in possession of paint, crayons, or even chalk.
- Sincerely,
Willie (Wm. Claude Johnson-Barr III, Esq.)

p.s. See page 'xx' of the introduction to George Niederauer's tome
'Locomotive 315' for a painting by Jeff Ellingson of Florence & Cripple Creek locomotive #3, the Elkton, in her original green livery. (F&CC #3 later became D&RG #425 and then D&RGW #315.) Lift said volume carefully – I aggravated a pre-existing hernia in the course of doing research a few minutes ago.
