Asbestos, huh?
Well what a surprise!!!
The quickest way to get rid of it is to take it to Mexico and return it without any asbestos.
But it's in Colorado, so you have to put it in a hermetically sealed enclosure and approach it with moon suits and large handled tools. Maybe they can pick the duct tape off a strand at a time. Why they didn't encapsulate the exposed parts in foam is beyond me... A bit of spray, and poof! no more dust problem outside the jacket.
Removing the Asbestos, however, is another story. Now they're to the point where they have to cougn the $10k plus and have the pros do it.
But CHS, IF they read this forum, should have been warned early on. HEY CHS...Pssst... (whisper) the 60 has it, too....
As has also been said, the $$$ keep ticking on...
To repeat what I said before, it's no wonder Colorado spends more on Historic preservation than any other state. If they are successful in getting the 9 to run, they will break their arms patting themselves on the back and Bragging long and loudly about how much money they spent and how difficult the job was.
Ths inmate ARE in charge of the asylum.
