Not sure how it is today, but way back in 1993 when I sponsored a weekend of charters I believe the RR had a policy with 100,000 deductible. So to cover my rear on that issue I got a short term policy(1 year) for $100,000.
I then incorporated to cover my rear again to protect my family!!!! Then had to hire a NM lawyer to do that!!!! Again I do not know what their situation is today. Its probably all different. I do not know what the responsibility is of charter sponsors as far as insurance is concerned. I figure most of them don't have any sponsorship insurance, or do they?
