Yes, the "Mini-Highline" which the D&S refers to in their milepost listing is that stretch you can see in Olaf's long-range shots in which the train is high above the road, with a string of high-tension lines very close and below on the east side. It is a good half a mile
south of Shalona Crossing. I think we all agree that the spot sucks photographically, and honestly, it's not a great view from the train either. If the weeds were cut and the power lines gone, it might be better from both perspectives.
I totally agree that "Elbert Creek Canyon" probably better
deserves the title of "Mini-Highline". Perhaps the D&S folks can revise their track guide and make everybody happy.
BTW, when I refer to their track guide or milepost guide, I am referring to the booklet that they nearly always distribute on charters and photo trains. Toward the back, you'll find that listing.
