That was in May, 1950 — the ONLY time that a Rio Grande K-36 is KNOWN to have had a dark olive ('Moffat') green boiler jacket. (See [ngdiscussion.net].)

I vaguely remember reading a long, long time ago that #499 was tarted up with a green jacket for a Rocky Club trip in 1949, but have never seen any proof.
