Back in the days when I was more agile, and perhaps more stupid I shot wildlife in Canada. Here is a preview of the video we did, and in the first half is a shot of a Grizzly Bear eating dead flower stems. I was shooting out the passenger side window of the conversion van, and we had the motor running. I got about 90 seconds of good video. As we left we saw a pick-up down the shoulder, and stopped to see what has happening. They were the game warden with a hound dog, and were looking for Bear that was reported by people saying it was very aggressive and pounding the pavement. This was about 50 miles west of Jasper, AB. but not in Jasper Park. They told us to stay back once I pointed out where it was, but we had already gotten out shots. I could see his teeth chomping away! I also got shots of black bears, and one brief shot of a brown bear. We saw a wolf fly across the highway during that trip but no chance for a shot, and never saw any cats. Got some nice shots of Big Horn sheep and other stuff. This was 1996, then we added footage from a 1999 trip later as bonus footage on the show. Nice to do something besides trains all the time, although we did a fair amount of trains in Canada as well.
