I couldn't agree more. That's not an easy climb and you need both hands available. I put my D4 in a Lowe-Pro Top Loader case and cinch down the 3-point harness so the camera rides on my back, protected and out of the way. Fortunately, up on that hill, you won't need that big 200-500mm artillery piece. I shot this with the 24-120mm f/4G VR at roughly 95 mm. 1/500th at f/8 and ISO 200:
Pack light when you go up that hill. And go up with a friend. I hear tell that there are "kitties" living in those hills. I usually also wear a little pack containing a stout Manfrotto monopod....not for shooting, but for swinging....just in case.
