I started out shooting Anscochrome back in 1958 (a pro friend recommended it because he could process it in his dark room). While it was poor film I have had decent luck scanning and fixing the faded images in Photoshop. Here is an example of an old Anscochrome that turned out ok.
I agree Dynachrome was pretty bad. I think I shot one roll. But I shot a LOT of Kodachrome 200 and the scanned images just look terrible, even at the relatively low resolution of a computer screen.
