Didn't even notice backpack guy until it was noted.
One thing I see in old photos, real ones that is, are areas of out of focus, usually blob-shaped. I don't know why it is, and you don't always see it, but there's a 'cloudy', slightly-out-of-focus portion of old photos like this. That, to me, is what's missing.
But regardless, I love the effect and it's still way better than most conversions I've seen. What software or website did you use for this? I would love to run some shots from my On30 gauge model railroad through that filter!
