Hi,
I have examined the 4-wheel passenger cars for O scale. Just rescaling them to 1:48 does not allow them to use O scale (5' gauge - 1.25" O gauge) wheel sets. They will need reworking. Not having worked in On3, I need information on 36" and 30" gauge O scale specifications to see how well the wheelsets will fit and if any modification to the O scale models are needed.
I took the 1873 2-truck passenger cars from the Rainbow Route plans and resized them to O scale. Just add On3 or On30 trucks.
The models in both HO scale and O scale are not complete. They are missing details such as handrails, smoke jacks, steps below the frame sills and so. I have no where to test run these cars (no HO or O scale test track room at the moment). If someone would like to test run a set of equipment for me (operate, switch, etc.) on their layout, I would send a set of two cars (a baggage and a combine) as a set of demonstrators. I will be glad to loan them out. This demonstrator is like how the diesel locomotives offered by EMD, Alco, etc will still be mine. If you add couplers, weight, and trucks, they will remain yours. Once my data on how well they preformed, disposition of the demonstrators can be worked out.
If anyone is interested inn testing my 2-truck passenger equipment, please contact me back channel.
Thanks.
Doug vV
