Still, a freight every 30 or 40 minutes is amazing for a guy stuck in Eureka, CA the last 30 years :/ The last train we we had here was almost 20 years ago now?

Last winter, i drove to Redding, CA to railfan the route from there to Mount Shasta. A couple friends and I spent the whole day looking and we got skunked. Sure, it was a Sunday but still, i owuld have thought Uncle Pete would have been running something.

40-ish years ago my family took me to see the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and we lived in So Cal at the time, so I guess I have been on HWY 40 but I don't remember anything until we got to the canyon itself.

I'm making a list of things t see and do from all your suggestion and I thank you all for you information!!!
