Don't forget the Route 66 museum in Kingman. The museum is kind of 'meh' but it's a good spot to park for trains. There's a AT&SF 4-8-4 on display across the street and the Kingman depot is next to the museum building.
Also, the back fence of the Sonic Drive-through at Kingman is right up against the Transcon main there. Great train watching and good eats!
I did a slideshow from my first trip to the area here, which mostly has the Grand Canyon RR but has some of the other local stuff:
