That was my point in my post above. I used to regularly run into guys with helicopters for big steam events, including CBS at Cumbres in 1991. Sure makes a mess of the audio. Everyone tolerates them cause they are "The News", They could only fly for about 10 minutes I heard, cause of the distance back to base in Farmington. So at least it was only a small period of the whole thing.
My comment about shooting down the Drone was tong in cheek, though it would be cool to see a couple drones battle it out for "Air Supremacy Over the Chama Valley"
. Air to air lasers perhaps!!!
I just shudder to think what it will be like someday when the Rotary runs again on the C&TS. How many drones will be there? Frankly as old as I am getting, it would be healthier for me to use one too, and access more than I can walk to!!! But, I doubt I would do so. Constant chatter is another annoying thing about video sound. Even on charters you hear guys blabbering away even when they know folks are doing audio. This is some recent footage I am talking about. Just glad I got to see stuff in regular service, before everything loses its luster due to so many new and annoying circumstances. I never expect to have aircraft of any kind be a bother on Cumbres, but with drones they are likely any day the train runs. Another thing to plan for(Or against)!!!
