I spent some time looking at the photo orginally linked to by John Droste, and then some time looking at the annotated version from Chris Walker. Here's what I think I am seeing, using Chris's annotated photo for conveniet reference.
To the right of "A" is a light colored pole without cross arms, possibly a new telegraph pole or one soon to be removed.
Immediately to the right of the arrow head on "A" is a pair of poles, with three cross arms showing. Possibly a pole renewal program was under way, or one had been damaged?
The "A" arrow points to the Ben Delaney building, which has a flag pole but no flag flying. There appears to be a finial on top of the pole, suggesting a flag pole, but. as I say, no flag is seen.
The "B" arrow curves down to show the switch, but if you look to the left of where it curves, there is another telegraph pole, with two cross arms. A narrow gauge locomotive is coupled to a cut of coal cars immediately to the left of this telegraph pole.
The line of telegraph poles seems to have only two cross arms, and follows the yard tracks into the distance at this point.
Not sure that I see anything else. I don't see what would be a semaphore signal or order board. Perhaps I am missing something?
