No, not as I remember. Just an extremely cold night. It was the October 1969 issue of Trains that had the article by John Norwood about the D&RGW eastbound train out of Chama (IIRC) that ended up buried for days in the blizzard. Philip Hastings's trip was uneventful--well, uneventful as far as the members of the crew were concerned.
