As a side note, I believe,the right of way through the reservations were easements and were conditional on several issues ( which I don't know right off hand, but I'll research it for the record )and the most noteable payola to the Indians was the free rides (Flag stops)they got through the reservations, but with the advent of gambling,I think the Indians might be very receptive to a train, that would benfit there gambling operations, after all they are very good bussiness people. Most of the grade from the DSNG to the outskirts of Durango is gone and or spotty at best,and the cost to directly connect to the DSNG would be the most expensive, but with enough money,... well anything is possible, to answear the question of the original post that I made, was to make aware of what's happening, once a goverment enity get's hold of land, it's next to impossible to get it from them, and to do so, you have to deal with the political uncertainities of such an adventure But, what the heck I'd love to see tracks between Durango & Chama
