Not only is line from Walsenburg to Alamosa full of slow track, so is the UP maintained track from Walsenburg to Southern Jct. lots of 25 mph and some 10 mph.
From another group, supposedly UP wants to sell everything south of Pueblo to one entity. Therefore BNSF balked becuase they don't want the branchlines. Supposedly there is some sort of three way deal going on where BNSF will get the mainline and a short line operator will get everything west of Walsenburg.
