O-K, Youse Guys -
Reading between the lines here, it looks like John Bush is interested in making this year's
mid-August specials into a regular event, but shifting it to the week AFTER RailFest rather
than the week BEFORE, and you ne'er-do-wells have offered to help out by organizing some
of the ancillary events such as slide shows, possible yard & shop tours by The Friends (per-
haps even demos of some of the equipment that The Friends have restored such as the Pile
Driver and the Derrick), and other railfan-oriented activities.
I presume that with Johnny Coal involved there will be a big push to have as many tank cars as possible available for the re-creation of a classic early-sixties "Cumbres Turn" as the first leg of the eastbound freight proposed for August 26, and that the drive to raise funds for the purchase of bearings & wedges will be picking up steam. Since Mr. Bush has given tentative approval of your endeavor, has any additional thought been given to Roosso Loco's proposal to give a discount on tickets for next year's specials to those who donate this year to the bearing fund?
