SFAIK, the only "painting" necessary will be re-lettering the tender(s) of one (or two?) locomotive(s) with the flying
'Rio Grande' logo -
unless Jimmy Blouch has some documentation showing that #489 worked between Alamosa and Chama during the summer of 1950,
in which case a Moffat Green jacket may again be appropriate
...
And of course we'll have to dirty up all those freshly painted and re-bearinged
GRAMPS tank cars so they look like they are actually
hauling crude, as in this July, 1963 image that John West sent me a few years ago for use in the "Help Save #483" screen saver

p.s. Note the boxcars at the front of this 'Cumbres Turn', proof that a train of six to eight tank cars, supplemented with two or three additional freight cars, would look 100% authentic ...
