I'll second that motion!! Welcome aboard, Nathan!

IMHO, the most important thing right now is to lock in the dates, August 26-30 being my first choice at this time.
Then - unlike the mad dash in 2010 - we'll have a full year to work out the details ...

That's one of our primary motivations. There were ten or twelve solid days of railroad-related activities in Narrow Gauge
Country during late August of 2010, which I believe helped fill in an otherwise quiet time with many more visitors than
usual for that time of year.

Not to worry, Brian -
When we were planning the 40th Anniversary Celebration back in 2010 Barbara Hogan reminded us that Labor Day Weekend is already a busy time in Chama, and with the N.G. Convention happening that weekend as well it was a no-brainer to shift the dates forward into August rather than backward into mid-September. The added incentive to attract RailFest attendees to the C&TS just a few days later - bringing more riders to the C&TS during an otherwise dead time in late August - pretty much seals the deal. Hopefully the D&RG in South Fork and the SL&RG in Alamosa will take advantage of the opportunity to run an extra train or two just as they did in 2010, and the CRRM and The Loop, etc., will also plan special events for fans traveling to and from Narrow Gauge Country via Denver.
