- A.S.A.P., The Friends (and/or the C&TS) set up a charter during the late
Summer "quiet time" in 2015 - featuring a two-engine "Cumbres Turn" that
includes all available tank cars on day one, with a mixed freight from Cumbres to
Antonito in the afternoon and a westbound mixed freight in the afternoon and early
evening of the following day. (See [ngdiscussion.net] for the rest of thestorywish list.) - Offer a 1% discount on tickets for said train for each $25 donated for tank-car bearings in
2014, so that a $500 donation would get 20% off, a $1,000 donation would get 40% off, and a don-
ation of $2,500 (or more) would get a free ride. Maybe, to get the ball rolling, double the dis-
count for any donations made prior to Labor Day, 2014 - i.e. in the next six weeks or so. - (Optional) THOROUGHLY clean the inside of at least one tank car so it could be used as an
auxiliary tender for the lead engine, and connect it to a pump hidden in the doghouse with a 2"
or 3" line - carefully hidden so as not to de-Phraud the freight - to keep up the water level in the ten-
der and eliminate the need to run for water from Big Horn to Sublette after just two or three run-bys.
(The road engine should be doing most of the work, except during run-bys, so the helper shouldn't
have a low water problem.)
