Re: Tonnage train in a storm on the C&TS

One thing I remember and you can see in the tape is just about a minute before we got slammed by the center of the storm that brought us to a halt Earl yells: "Oh Sh*t!" and points up the hill to this massive black cloud that's rapidly descending on us. The rain was so intense I stood in the middle of the cab and tried my best not to get wet. You see Earl closing the window at this time as well. The steam created by the rain hitting the boiler blocked out the view to the front of the locomotive. To the sides we could only see 50 feet or so. I stopped the tape at this point and I think we were stalled for about 5 minutes.
