Well, Rich -
For the ONE-engine, NO-chase-train, NON-authentic Green-Jacket #489 Commemoration (NOT re-enactment) in May, 2010, we asked $215 for boxcar tickets and $250 for caboose tickets (including dinner at Osier) - with a $20 discount for members of the three groups who helped market the trip in their newsletters.
* Even with some sizable donations for the green paint and a lot of volunteer labor, I ended up a few hundred in the hole with IIRC 36 passengers.
** If you're going to put together an authentic-looking flanger run (or rotary run in a few years), or an authentic-looking re-creation of a
non-
flanging Cumbres Turn like those Tom Gildersleeve shot in March, 1963, you're either going to need a chase train or to somehow make sure that most of the chasers contribute to the trip
...*** With two engines (plus the flanger & spreader crews if it's more than just a Cumbres Turn) I'm guessing you're looking at more like $400 each for fifty participants - probably even more.

** I'm NOT complaining - Mother Nature gave us BEAUTIFUL day, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat with #315 or #463 in a Moffat Green jacket!
