AMEN to that, Michael. We had about 35 in May, 2010, and that was about right - but it was just one engine and no "chase" train, so not nearly as costly.

Me too - for one day, anyhow. Not sure my wallet - or my body - could handle two, but - depending on who's putting it together - I'd be VERY tempted ...

Or how about one day to Osier, and - after dinner & anti-freeze - #19 pulls the cabeese and/or coach back to Antonito. Return to Osier early in the morning and plow / flange to Cumbres on day two. Fresh, unplowed snow both days, and far enough from roads that there'd be very few moochers except Los Piños to Cumbres. Maybe you could even "Plandampf" the last five miles, and stop at Los Piños if the chasers don't chip in enough. Would $1,350 cover both days?
