Yeah, or we could make a Hy-road truck with little road wheels up under the bumper that can be lowered off the rails :-)
A truck that comes to mind here is the Dodge Power Wagon farm truck. It already has a PTO on the rear for farm implements, and was frequently used used in firefighting. Farm trucks were old though, the last Power Wagon style able to have a PTO like that from the factory was in the late '60s. I don't even know if it was an option that late though. The '78 Power Wagon previously in Chama did have a front-mount winch to simplify things. Not sure if it was PTO driven though, see if anyone can tell:
