The D&SNG owns #498, not #497. #498 has NOT been "stuffed & mounted", but her remains are parked behind the museum wing of the roundhouse and not easily visible from anywhere else on the property. #498 was the last K-37 used by the D&RGW; she pulled the very last revenue freight over Cumbres Pass on August 29, 1968, and has not run since her fire was dropped that evening.
