As a note, the "Car Builders' Cyclopedia" indicates that the "KC" type of air brakes is of the "Combined type of Brake Cylinder and Auxiliary Reservoir. The "KD" type is where the Auxiliary Reservoir is detached from the Brake Cylinder. The Triple Valve in either case is attached to the Auxiliary Reservoir. Much of the D&RG/D&RGW ng rolling stock was equipped with the "KC", especially in the later years. However, there were many examples of the "KD" arrangement in use too, especially on the
