Rex,
You're right. Bob told that story many times and the volunteers that were around in the seventies backed it up. 318's tender was behind 346 when it was measured and photographed. The HOn3 importer was Key. I also have that HOn3 model of 346 by Key and it has 318's tender. There's some differences. Ladder locations are different, etc. The stories say the crew that measured the tender were from the manufacturer. (Japanese or Korean) and ignored the numbering on the incorrect tender. The Museum crew and Uncle Bob were not about to clue these guys in. That's a great piece of trivia for the records.
