Here are a couple of photos of the frame.
This is the upper frame rail firemans side, probably the biggest lump of weld on the frames. There are multiple areas where the frames have been welded and ground flush to clear the rigging, if it was a fix break or just surface buildup is hard to tell.
Here is the forward face of the saddle. The firemans side is a replacement casting, it it missing Brooks under the slidevalve, and has a crack that extends from the upper frame rail towards the center flange and under the saddle and the cylinder is banded. The engineers side is original but the smokebox flange is crumbling. The crosswise rod in front a part of a strongback that is pulling the front frame extensions towards the center, so its likely that the engine has a history of the cylinders working loose.
