None of the requested giant termites showed up to help, so I had to tackle the bushes by hand. Fortunately, much of it was dried out and brittle so I was able to break away enough to get a couple of clear shots. Dan agreed to open the cylinder cocks & blow the whistle as he passed the short area that was relatively free of brush, so I was able to get a couple of unobstructed portraits

Now to "PhotoShop" those concrete walls and replace them with some appropriate mountains

For example, there are some rugged mountains just to the west of town which would make a GREAT background for photos. Hopefully, a third rail will be laid on the few miles of line out to Railroad Pass so that next year Eureka can really stretch her legs – and as far away from them - there - those @#$%& bushes as possible
