So what do you do with such historic artifacts? This is definitely not akin to finding a spike or oil cup. This was the remains of one of the grim sides of railroading and as such it really doesn't belong in a private collection (some thought was given to reburying it but we worried the next guy may not be so thoughtful).
After much discussion on our parts we decided to donate them to the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City, NV. Last Sunday Oct. 18 we met Chris DeWitt at the museum and handed over the display I made for the remnants of #14.

Once a suitable interpretation of the items has been developed Chris plans to place it on display at the museum.
