I think a part of the problem is, being privately owned, the EBT can't tap into the pools of tax money, and grants that other places can. I don't know if they can accept donations, or in what form (If nothing else, just buy tickets!).
Location is a big part of it too, the EBT is at LEAST 3/4 hour by car from anyplace else (even the tourist traps).... unless ya like to look at trees or cows. There isn't really too much in the towns either. I guess tourism is not real high on their priority list. At least the highway is in better shape than it was.
I think if the fences between the FEBT and Joe can be mended that the group could evemtually be in a position to help tremendously with advertising and the funding of some restorations. Unfortunately, I don't know how (or if) a for-profit corporation, even one designated a national historic landmark, can accept capital improvements from a non-profit group without causing headaches with the IRS.
