The Laurel River & Hot Springs was pretty much stillborn. They did some grading and laid a couple miles of rail, but the company abandoned the project before completion. Had one locomotive, a handsome little 2-6-0 which eventually wound up on the Sandy River & Rangely Lakes.

Interestingly, my 1998 edition of Jay Reed's "Comprehensive Guide to Industrial Locomotives" lists five 2-foot industrial haulers still in operation at that time, but I suspect they're all gone now.
