I was hooked on standard gauge as a toddler, grew up next to the SF main line. At the age of 11 I saw WP&Y#69 in the black hills, my first taste of narrow gauge steam. The next year we traveled through Durango, but didn't have the time or money to ride. But the following summer we rode. I went back to the big stuff, but am now hooked on Cumbres, where I am trying to make an annual pilgrimage to the mecca of steam.
