Where should all of this figure into a young persons imaginative spirit? Would we rather discourage them all from being the next generation who have to do alot with less and less each year before they even get to that age where they can make an impact on these issues?
While you're at it, why don't we stuff and mount all railroad equipment that was made before 2007? That way all that has to be done is paint them every 5 years. Nothing will get broken, no financing will have to be acquired, and no one will ever again hear the whistle or smell the coal/oil/wood smoke. All of those people who have worked so hard to keep things going in spite of these insurmountable odds will be out jobs.
Bashing it may not be. However, without the perseverance and spirit of future generations we will lose what we all have a special place in our heart for.
